SUZANNE and THOMAS CASEY - Developers, HighGrove
Suzanne holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and Policy, basing her research on studies of five major national corporations and five public sector Superintendents. Her work through her 35 year career includes both the private and public sector, with predominant time spent as an Assistant Superintendent at a large suburban high school on the edge of Chicago. With the background in organizational, personnel and financial administration, her expertise has proven invaluable in the design and development of HighGrove.
Thomas holds a degree in Business Management, operating a transportation company for 35 years. In that role, major emphasis was placed on contact specifications and the financial management of his company. As a private sector company, he gained insight into the public sector by contracting largely with school districts across the area.
In 2004, together, they formed a corporation - The Beane Homestead Development - and began the process of designing and gaining approval for the construction of an environmentally sensitive housing development on land that has been in the Beane (Suzanne's maiden name) family since 1848. Approval was received in June, 2006 and in December, 2007 Suzanne and Thomas accepted an award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for their forward thinking conservation design.
